Editorial methodology

We score software against operational reality.

Our goal is not to identify the platform with the longest feature list. It is to identify the platform that best removes the costly bottlenecks of a specific type of service business.

1. Start with the trade

We define the core workflow of the business first: lead intake, estimating, scheduling, dispatch, field execution, customer communication, invoicing, payment and repeat service. Different trades weight those jobs differently.

2. Verify factual capabilities

Feature claims are checked against current official vendor documentation wherever possible. We distinguish vendor-stated capabilities from our own editorial assessment.

3. Score fit, not hype

Our editorial score weighs workflow fit, ease of adoption, operational depth, scalability, communication, reporting and unnecessary complexity. A larger system does not automatically score higher.

4. Make the trade-offs explicit

Every product should have a best-fit customer and a reason another customer should choose something else. Reviews that claim one tool is perfect for everyone are not useful.

5. Keep money separate from rankings

Trade Software Hub may earn referral compensation from software companies. Compensation does not buy a ranking position, editorial score or favorable conclusion.

Update policy

Software changes quickly. We date substantive review updates and link factual feature analysis to vendor documentation so readers can verify important details before purchasing.
